Privacy Policy
How FlyWindow handles information, and the choices you have.
Effective date: 15 September 2026
Privacy and support contact: support@flywindow.app
What this policy covers
This policy explains how FlyWindow handles information when you use its iPhone app, connected services and website. FlyWindow is operated by an independent developer based in Ukraine and helps you plan drone photography using weather, light and photo subjects.
You do not need a FlyWindow account. The app has no advertising or in-app analytics SDK and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising. We do not sell your personal information.
Information used by the app
| Information | Why it is used and where it goes |
|---|---|
| Device location, with your iOS permission | To find local weather and nearby subjects. Apple receives coordinates for WeatherKit forecasts and place lookup. FlyWindow requests location access while in use, not background location access. |
| Places you search for or select | Search text and map region go to Apple's MapKit; selected coordinates are used to retrieve forecasts. You can search for a weather location without granting device-location permission; current-location features need that permission. |
| Saved places and Spots, drone profiles, limits, preferences and cached forecasts | Stored locally by the app to remember your setup and show previously fetched data. Solar calculations run on your device. Device backups may retain app data according to your Apple/device settings. |
| Subscription information | Apple processes purchases. StoreKit supplies transaction and entitlement information so the app can unlock or restore Pro. We do not receive your payment-card details. Apple retains its purchase records under its own policies. |
| Network requests for Kp, photographs and the moderation list | NOAA SWPC supplies space-weather data; Wikimedia supplies photographs; Cloudflare hosts FlyWindow's moderation services. Photo requests identify a public image file, not your device coordinates. These connections expose ordinary network information, including your IP address, to the receiving service. |
Optional reports about a photo or place
When you choose a report reason, the app sends the report type, subject's source and ID, spot name, photo title where applicable, selected reason and data-pack version to our Cloudflare-hosted report service. The report does not include your name, email, device coordinates, uploaded photographs or a free-text message.
The service also processes your IP address and derives a salted, pseudonymous reporter identifier. It retains that identifier with report records and timestamps to group reports, limit abuse and decide whether to hide a subject. A hashed identifier is not anonymous. The application's report records do not store the raw IP address; infrastructure providers still process network information under their own practices.
Reports are stored privately. A resulting public moderation list identifies the reported subject or photograph and the list's update time, but does not publish report reasons or reporter identifiers. Reporting is optional; you can cancel before selecting a reason. Choosing a reason submits the report.
External services and protection
We use Apple for weather, place search and purchases; Wikimedia for photographs; NOAA SWPC for space weather; and Cloudflare for website hosting, email forwarding and moderation storage. Google provides the inbox used to receive support and privacy correspondence. External official-source links open the relevant provider's website.
These providers explain their handling of information in their own notices: Apple, Wikimedia, NOAA, Cloudflare and Google. Their services may process information outside your country.
We use HTTPS for the app's service requests and restrict access to private report storage. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.
Website hosting
Cloudflare hosts the FlyWindow website. Visiting a page, including this policy, sends a request containing your IP address and ordinary request information, such as the requested URL and browser headers. Cloudflare processes network information to deliver and protect the website. This is separate from the app's location permission and local storage.
This policy page does not load analytics scripts. FlyWindow's own aggregate click measurement is currently disabled on the website. The hosting provider may still process traffic and security information under its own privacy notice.
Retention and deletion
Local app data remains until removed through available app controls or by deleting the app. Offloading is not deletion; device backups are managed separately in your Apple/device settings. Removing the app does not cancel a subscription or erase Apple's purchase records.
Report records, IP-derived reporter identifiers, rate-limit records and private moderation summaries currently have no automatic expiry. They remain in private storage until manually deleted. A rate-limit record can remain stored after the hour in which it affects the limit. The public moderation list may remain available to prevent a removed subject or photograph from reappearing.
If you contact support@flywindow.app, Cloudflare Email Routing forwards your message to our Gmail inbox. We use your email address and the information you choose to send to handle your request. Correspondence is stored in that inbox and is not removed by deleting the app. To request deletion of correspondence or report information, contact the same address. We do not promise a fixed automatic deletion period for support correspondence. Providers manage their own infrastructure logs and records under their applicable policies.
Your choices and rights
You can change or revoke location access in iOS Settings at any time. You can stop sending reports and request access, correction or deletion of information we hold by contacting support@flywindow.app. There is no FlyWindow account to delete.
Because reports are not tied to an account, we may need limited information to locate a relevant record and may be unable to identify it reliably. We will explain this rather than request unrelated identity documents.
Where applicable law grants them, you may also request restriction or portability, object to processing, withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing, and complain to your local data-protection authority. Manage or cancel Pro through your Apple subscription settings, separately from privacy requests.
Changes and contact
We will update this page and its effective date when our practices change, and provide additional notice or seek permission where required. For privacy questions, support or requests, contact support@flywindow.app.
